Finding the right pair of walking trainers can make all the difference. Whether you're clocking miles on vacation, running errands, or just want something comfortable for everyday wear. With so many options out there, it can be hard to know which ones are actually worth it. I’ve done the research (and the walking) to round up the best walking trainers for women that are comfortable, supportive, and actually look good. Comment your thoughts below!
TABLE OF CONTENTS:
Every pair of New Balance shoes I’ve bought has been on repeat in my wardrobe. They make amazing lifestyle walking trainers, along with good options for actual workouts. Stylish, versatile, and comfortable - pretty much everything you’d want in a sneaker. I’m especially loving these new 1906R walking trainers. They look just as good with jeans as they do with leggings or athletic shorts.

I originally bought these for my husband, but they now make them in women's sizing.
Designed as tennis shoes, but stylish enough for everyday wear.
It has a thicker sole which gives extra height and extra cushion.

I have these Nike trainers and wear them all the time. I walk with them to Pilates, take my dog on long walks, and lift with them at the gym. They’re super cushioned, especially on concrete, and have a nice bounce to them. The only thing is they run a little small, so I’d recommend going up half a size for the best fit. They also come in different colors!

These Alo white trainers are basically an elevated version of the Nike Air Force 1s. The premium full grain leather gives them a more high end look compared to the Air Force 1s. I wore these in Florence and would walk atleast 20,000 steps per day and did not have any foot aches. Not only can they be worn for long distance walking, but I also wore them to the gym during my Europe trip!

I found these Asics GT-2160 trainers from a TikTok recommendation. A woman was raving about how she wears them for her morning 10,000 step walk, and after trying them myself, I get the hype. They’re not just great for long walks. They are a great option for working out too.

When it comes to long distance walking, Hokas are always a solid choice. The only downside? They’re not exactly the most stylish. That said, the new Hoka Arahi 7 trainers aren’t too bad in that department. They come in a range of colors, and the reviews speak for themselves.
One verified customer said, "The Arahi7 is the perfect shoe. Super comfy, good arch support and my foot stays put. From the 1st walk I knew this would be my go to style from now on."

These new On Cloudtilt trainers look insanely comfortable and cushioned. My father in law, who’s a cardiologist and on his feet from 6 AM to 7 PM, swears by them. He rotates between these and his Allbirds Tree Runners, which says a lot. If you need a solid everyday shoe for errands or long walks, these are a great option.

My On Cloudnova trainers have been my go-to for years. I repurchase at least one pair every 8 months. I even grabbed them in black because they’re just such a good pair to have in my rotation.
They’re technically not made for running, but I run in them with zero issues. Perfect for walking, weight training, or just running errands. Plus, they look great with everything - leggings, shorts, joggers, trousers, etc.
One verified buyer said, "Most comfortable shoes ever. Very stylish as well, they match everything!"

It took me a bit to justify spending on the APL Zipline Sneakers, but after wearing them for six months, I can honestly say they’re the best walking shoes I’ve owned (and I even run in them without any discomfort).
The platform gives me a flattering lift, making my legs look great (especially being 5'2) while keeping me comfortable on my long walks. My only regret is not buying the black or beige color, as they did get dirty faster than expected. My husband loved how they looked on me so much that he had to get a pair for himself now he’s just as obsessed.

My New Balance 530s are a staple in my wardrobe. I love how I can wear these with wide leg jeans or leggings and looks good with both looks. They are also under $100.
I wear mine everywhere, from the farmers market to the office and always get compliments. I have them in the burgundy and white colorway, and they’re easily one of my most-worn pairs.

As seen on Ariana Grande and countless other celebs and influencers and for good reason. The Reebok Club C 85 trainers are a solid everyday sneaker that pair well with so many outfits. They have a classic look to them, so they won't go out of style.
One verified purchaser on Amazon said, "I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. I wear them almost daily and they’re still holding up, 2 years later. They already have a slight tint to them so they’re an off white. It makes it easy to wear them and not worry about getting a little bit of dirt on them. I bought these prior to a Vegas trip and I walked the strip for hours and these never once hurt my feet. They’re true to size and sturdy."

My go to brands for walking trainers are New Balance, On Running, Asics, and Hoka.
New Balance has great lifestyle sneakers that are cute and comfortable. On Running makes super lightweight, cushioned trainers that feel great for long walks. Asics is a good option if you want something that is supportive on the foot that you can also run/walk in. Hokas are known for their extra cushioned soles that are ideal for long distance walking and running. Probably, the least stylish shoe option, but you really get comfort out of them. It really depends on what you are exactly looking for, but if I had to choose between these brands it would be New Balance all the way. I mean, there is a reason they have been around all these years!
The best shoes for walking and standing all day are ones that provide great cushioning, arch support, and durability. Brands like Hoka , New Balance, Asics, and On Running are solid choices because they’re designed for long hours on your feet. Look for features like a cushioned midsole, good shock absorption, and a supportive fit. Your feet will thank you!

I am surprised and disappointed that Ryka shoes were not rated. A shoe company “made by women for women” was not reviewed. I have been wearing them for 10+ years. First time I found shoes wide across the toe area and yet cups the heel without rubbing. That’s just my opinion but the article is yours and I was curious.
